Many people have fears of elevators and this one of the more regular phobias. This seems to be a combination of a fear that the lift might break, with a fear of enclosed spaces – a fear of heights mixed with claustrophobia- and this seems to make it quite self explanatory and understandable thing to be somewhat nervy of. This can be quite impractical however if you live on the top floor, and really there should be nothing to worry about if you have installed it correctly.
The reality is that elevators are very safe – but only if you treat them right and if they are correctly constructed. This is mostly the responsibility of the owner of the building, and so if you are commissioning an elevator to be installed into your premises, it is very important that you take all reasonable precautions to ensure that your elevator is safe for use.
The first way to do this is to ensure that you get an elevator consultant when you first have the elevator built.
