Like everything that has technology at its core, elevators have progressed rapidly since their original inception and today they’re quite the advanced devices. They still perform the one simple function they were originally created for, but nowadays they also offer so much more for your pleasure and convenience. If you’re installing elevators in your building and want to give your residents or visitors a sense of luxury, you should consider some of these options to freshen it up!
Many of the innovations are targeted at the button board – the board with all the buttons you use for selecting the floors. Some elevator systems have fancy LCD screens that show you an animation of the elevator going through the building and visualizing your exact floor. You can also have some voice recordings installed, notifying passengers when the elevator has passed a certain floor.
Speaking of voice enhancements, there are also options for voice recognition systems to be used in an elevator cabin – this is very useful if you have handicapped people traveling with those elevators frequently, as you’d want to assist them as best as possible – and this is certainly a bit more convenient than Braille letters on the buttons.
